Win a Vantage V8 Roadster with Hackett of London

Hackett London launched an integrated global campaign that offers one of the world’s most prestigious sports cars as the top prize, in a luxury brand tie up with Aston Martin, this week. Since 1 April, local consumers will have the chance to participate in Hackett’s international competition.

With a chance to win a soft top Aston Martin, the Vantage V8 Roadster, this competition celebrates the launch of Hackett London’s 2013 Spring/Summer collection, during Aston Martin’s centenary year. Devised and implemented by marketing agency B STREET London, the integrated global campaign will run in 14 markets, including South Africa, double the number of markets that participated last year when Hackett and Aston Martin first collaborated.

This campaign promotes the existing relationship between Hackett, Aston Martin and Aston Martin Racing and allows Hackett customers the chance to win exclusive and rare rewards in return for making a purchase. Based on sales basket analysis, customers have four entry levels linked to spend for the chance to win a prize.

On purchasing at the required level, customers will receive an entry card which contains a PIN code to enter on the multilingual microsite. Prize funds become more luxurious at each spend level. As these levels increase, customers will also be automatically entered into the prize funds below it. Customers spending R8700 or over have the chance to win the Aston Martin Vantage V8 Roadster.

At the R6400 level there are two Aston Martin weekend experiences to be won including a 3-night stay at a UK country house hotel with one of the latest Aston Martins to drive. At R4600 there are four VIP excursions to the Le Mans 24-Hour race to be won where winners can enjoy the thrill of Le Mans first-hand, side by side with the Aston Martin Racing team. And at the R2900 spend level there are ten Aston Martin Racing by Hackett Kit Bags to be won.

Hackett London’s Marketing Director, Mark Owens:
“There’s no denying the synergy and consequent strong appeal of these two luxury British brands in this campaign. The idea translates extremely well around the world, and thanks to the execution by B STREET, enhances brand values whilst at the same time encouraging strong sales. Last year, we saw a significant (20%) increase in spend at the top entry level as a result of offering our Aston Martin prize.”

Hackett London’s local Director, Moosa Mayet:
“The collaboration between the brands locally is growing from strength to strength with this campaign securing the bond even further. South Africa’s footprint in the luxury arena is enhanced by campaigns like these that allow us to compete with developed international markets such as the United Kingdom.”

B STREET’s Creative Partner, Kevin Exley, adds:
“The strategy behind the campaign is simple – to bring customers of the most quintessentially British style label the chance to win the most quintessentially British car. Working closely with international markets, the offer is being supported around the world with local language POS kits, promotional window display, digital advertising, a dedicated microsite and social media.”

The promotion is running in over 90 Hackett stores and concessions in the following markets around the world: UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Malaysia, South Africa, India, Belgium, Holland, Hong Kong, Philippines and Mexico.

To participate in this exciting competition visit the flagship store at the Protea Court in Sandton City or online

The promotion closes on 31st May 2013.

46664 Fashion Winter 2012 Collection

46664 – four, double six, six four - was the prison number given to Nelson Mandela when he was imprisoned for life in 1964.

Launched in August 2011, 46664 Fashion includes a range of T-shirts that make arresting visual statements around Mr Nelson Mandela’s humanitarian legacy. The Statement T’s draw iconic inspiration from intimate access by the brand’s design team to archive material housed in the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory. The Statement T’s in the 2012 Winter 46664 Fashion range, currently in store, include one with a stunning repeated graphic image of Madiba in a boxing stance, symbolising the spirit of perseverance that is so intrinsic to South Africa’s people.

These Tee's also echoes the core inspiration of the 2012 Winter range - Mandela’s passion for boxing – as does “Freedom Gym”, a powerful Statement T that speaks to the need for individuals to remain active in the fight against injustices. The rest of the range includes superb graphic renditions of key aspects of Mr Mandela’s humanitarian legacy including “Dignity”, “Democracy”, ‘Mentor” and many others. One of the standouts is “46664 It’s In Our Hands: Consciousness on Cloth” – the T’s graphic based around the struggle posters that were so prevalent during the fight against apartheid that so many South Africans and others took part in.

The latest range from the social impact brand is complemented by a number of eye-catching and thought-provoking statement Ts by design team member, Craig Native. These wearable T's help express the values that are key to Madiba’s humanitarian legacy  founded by the Nobel Peace Prize winner in 2002 using his Robben Island prisoner number, 466/64.

The 2012 Winter range with men, women and children’s clothing and apparel delivers nothing short of a knockout fashion punch. The collection sees the core 46664 Fashion design team of Chris Vogelpoel and Barbara Tosalli, deliver a spirited range that’s high on colour and energy and also carries plenty of the brand’s now signature details that talk to both 46664 Fashion’s African roots and the ongoing humanitarian work of 46664.

“Winter 2012 is hinged around our bold and colourful shirts which feature contrast styling details,” explains Vogelpoel. “We have also extended our golfers into more colour blocking and featuring new details to discover.” A bold addition to 46664 Fashion’s Winter 2012 range are snappy, zipper track tops and fleece hoodies – both featuring strong colour and eclectic detail. Custom fitted Chinos in stone, navy and tobacco as well as denim jeans with coloured studs and rivets and shweshwe pocketing and waistband lining complement the range offering.

A striking feature of the menswear range is 46664 Fashion’s knitwear including bold striped cardigans, comfort fit cardigans in purple and orange and a cable button through with full contrast placket. 46664 Fashion’s Womenswear 2012 range is built around rich, soulful tones and textures – an inspirational mix of gold, strawberry, chartreuse, tangerine, cerise, grape and apple green resulting in a spirited colour palette that’s ideal for day or evening wear. “We also have African-inspired prints and vivid patterns that are softened by sultry lines and flowing fabrics,” says Tosalli.

About 46664

46664 itself has grown into a multi-faceted global campaign. It's mission is to encompass all areas of Mr Mandela's humanitarian legacy (in SA, Africa, and the world) - including supporting projects like Nelson Mandela International Day - calling on individuals worldwide to give 67 minutes of their time to take action that inspires change.

Created as a partnership between Seardel/Brand ID and 46664, as part of a concerted move towards building its sustainability/self-sufficiency. Overseen by the 46664 Board it ensures that a percentage of 46664 Fashion's turnover is given to 46664 to further the humanitarian legacy of its founder, Mr Nelson Mandela. The board identifies projects that will benefit from funds raised and other commercial endeavours undertaken by 46664 and will not accrue to any individual.

Hackett of London launches at Sandton City

Quintessential British men’s outfitters Hackett London launched its flagship store in Sandton City’s brand new mall space one of two stores in South Africa; the other at OR Tambo International Airport. The luxury British menswear, children’s wear and accessories brand opened its first store on the Kings Road in London selling second hand vintage clothes from Portobello market.

The store concept takes its inspiration from the famous and typically British exterior of Number 10 Downing Street, creating a residential feel inspired by a traditional London townhouse through the use of wooden panelling and black bricks. The starting point for the design focuses on the British Georgian period, particularly the style of architect Sir John Sloane whose simple and classic yet strong approach to design, reflects the very essence of Hackett. The timeless furniture and furnishings have been updated with a modern twist to provide distinctive focal points around the store.
Jeremy Hackett

Hackett clothing takes its inspiration from the traditions of British dress without being old-fashioned; as such it describes its products as “evolutionary rather than revolutionary.” Hackett clothing is for men who wish to dress stylishly and to whom quality is more important than the vagaries of fashion.

Parts of the range are much the same as they were twenty years ago, but as co-founder Jeremy Hackett says, "our clothes wear in, not out.” Hackett’s aim is to dress men for any occasion whether for the business, formal, country or sporting contexts which are perfectly encapsulated under the strap-line ‘Essential British Kit’. The 'Little Britons' range increasingly caters for the younger "man's" clothing needs.

Awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is the highest accolade for business success and honours outstanding UK companies and helps encourage the development of British business at home and internationally. The Awards are presented annually and approved by The Queen, on the recommendation of the UK Prime Minister. The last six years have been a particularly exciting time for the brand as it has expanded its retail and wholesale footprint across the globe including its recent expansion into Africa through its South African stores.

Another key factor is the successful execution of desirable sponsorship deals with leading British and international sporting and social events. Hackett has managed to position itself within the social calendar with events such as The Boat Race, international polo and tennis as well as its long standing association with Aston Martin Racing. The international expansion continues into 2012, with the opening of a 3,500 sq ft flagship store in Milan last month and the local store launch in Johannesburg.
